Chi Who

Mi chiamo Matteo, ho 24 anni, vivo a Sanremo. Ho cominciato a giocare di ruolo in solitaria sul serio nel gennaio 2026. Sono novizio a tutto questo, e questo mio scritto nasce per narrarne il percorso. Sono disgrafico, e per questo tengo gli appunti e mando avanti il diario di gioco al computer. Non troverai il sapere di un esperto: troverai prime impressioni, errori, e lezioni imparate mentre le vivo.

My name is Matteo, I'm 24, I live in Sanremo. I started playing roleplaying games solo, seriously, in January 2026. I'm a novice at all of this, and this writing exists to tell the story of that journey. I'm dysgraphic, which is why I keep my notes and run my play journal on the computer. You won't find an expert's knowledge here: you'll find first impressions, mistakes, and lessons learned as I live them.

Perché soli Why alone

Quello che mi interessa, qui dentro, non è dimostrare che il solitario sia migliore del gioco di gruppo. Non lo è. È diverso.

What interests me here is not proving that solo play is better than group play. It isn't. It's different.

Giocare da solo mi permette di immergermi di più e di andare al mio ritmo, senza la fretta di una sessione di gruppo e senza il timore di diventarne l'unico protagonista. E mi lascia libero di collezionare qualsiasi manuale susciti la mia ispirazione, senza l'ansia di non giocarlo mai perché non piace a qualcun altro.

Playing alone lets me sink in more deeply and move at my own pace — without the rush of a group session, and without the worry of becoming its only protagonist. And it leaves me free to collect any rulebook that sparks my imagination, without the dread of never playing it because someone else doesn't like it.

Tre promesse che mi sono fatto prima di aprire questa stanza. Three promises I made to myself before opening this room.

1. I. Scrivere soltanto dopo aver giocato almeno una sera. Mai prima. Write only after playing at least one evening. Never before.
2. II. Non parlare male di un manuale senza prima dire cosa cercavo da lui. Don't speak ill of a rulebook without first saying what I wanted from it.
3. III. Raccontare il percorso com'è, da novizio: errori compresi, senza gonfiarlo. Tell the journey as it is, from a novice: mistakes included, without inflating it.
